Anna Viel joined the firm as a Paralegal and Administrative Assistant in November of 2009.  She graduated cum laude from Middlebury College in 2007, where she majored in Environmental Studies with a focus in Conservation Biology. Her senior project examined moose herbivory along an elevational gradient on Mount Abe, which was a welcome excuse to snowshoe weekly. At school she helped lead the Middlebury College Organic Garden which was founded just before her freshman year. After graduating, her interest in food justice sent her back to her native California to intern with Chef Ann Cooper in the Berkeley Public Schools, where she got the opportunity to teach cooking and gardening classes to elementary and middle school students. Anna spent six months in France working, visiting family, and eating croissants before moving back to Vermont in 2008.

Why I Work at SDRS

I love coming to work each day knowing that I am going to be challenged. Working with a group of people so committed and passionate, with similar goals and eagerness to collaborate is a rare environment that I feel lucky to be a part of. Our work is not only interesting, varied, and exciting, it is compatible with my values and passions.
